MAKE A MOVEMENT SUNDAY: MAY DAY IMMIGRANT MOBILE DEMONSTRATION

Looking for a new way to celebrate May Day. Uprooted recommends checking out the Immigrant Movement International:

Where: Immigrant Movement International
When: Sun, May 1, 2pm – 5pm

Description:
A community-oriented event series which takes place the first Sunday of every month. For the May ‘Make a Movement Sunday’, we welcome all to meet in Queens at the Immigrant Movement International headquarters for a May Day mobile workshop and demonstration to spread immigrant rights slogans made at the last event to the streets of Manhattan.

Itinerary for the day:
10:30 AM Arrive at Immigrant Movement International headquarters to join members of MRNY Youth Power Project and the Queens Museum of Art New New Yorkers Program.
10:30 – 11:30 AM Prepare for workshop and demonstration and check out exhibition of pictures and banners from previous mobilizations curated by Natalia Aristizabal-Betancur from Make The Road New York.
11:30 – 12:00 AM Lunch
12:00 – 1:00 PM Workshop on the train to Manhattan.
1:00 PM Join May Day Rally and hand out Immigrant Movement made stickers.
